Data attribution

Production V1 · last updated 19 August 2026

ShareMySiteData combines its commercial survey-discovery index with live queries to public/open sources. Public-source information remains owned/licensed by its originating body and is subject to that body's terms and attribution requirements.

Commercial survey index

Commercial discovery records may be supplier-uploaded or evidence-backed platform-indexed records. The underlying commercial survey/report is not republished as part of the index unless separately authorised. Platform-indexed records use the generic label Supplier-Published Record in public search, with the supporting source retained privately for validation and permitted record unlock.

Public/open sources used in Production V1

  • British Geological Survey (BGS) — borehole/SOBI information where available.
  • Planning Data — planning-related datasets queried from the official service where integrated.
  • Ordnance Survey OpenData — mapping/open geospatial datasets where used.
  • Environment Agency — public environmental, flood, LiDAR and related datasets where integrated.
  • Natural England — public environmental/ecology datasets where integrated.
  • Historic England — public heritage datasets where integrated.

Specific dataset names, licence statements and required copyright notices should be surfaced alongside each integration where the source licence requires them. This page does not override source-specific licensing.

Images

The prototype/site includes image credits in the main footer. Those credits remain attached to the relevant third-party images rather than being claimed as ShareMySiteData-owned photography.

Source corrections

If a public or commercial discovery record is incorrectly attributed, the platform should retain an auditable correction/removal process. Final contact details for attribution requests will be inserted with the legal operator details before launch.
